Billing trends

The month-by-month evolution of what you pay: energy, cost, unit price, demand and power factor, each with its change against the previous period.

The column that matters is the delta

The Billing Trends module lines the months up in one table and computes the variation of each item. A high cost says nothing on its own; a cost up 18% while consumption rose 3% does, and points at where to look.

By separating kWh from $/kWh, the table distinguishes two causes the bill blurs together: consuming more, and energy costing more per unit.

$/kWh is the indicator that reveals a tariff change, a demand charge or a penalty that the peso total hides.

Table columns

  • The month's energy in kWh and its variation
  • Period cost and its variation
  • Unit price $/kWh and its variation
  • Demand in kW and its variation
  • The period's power factor
  • Tariff period breakdown: base, intermediate and peak

How to read it

The module opens as a dashboard: period indicators with their variation, and six charts covering twelve months against the prior year.

EVA-Smart AI billing trends with period indicators and twelve months of consumption
Period indicators with their variation, and twelve months of consumption against the prior year. Here peak demand runs 11.2% above contracted and power factor sits 7.6% below target: two charges already being paid.
Tariff period breakdown, percentage participation, cost trend and unit cost evolution
Tariff period breakdown in kWh and in percentage, cost trend and $/kWh evolution. Consumption drifting toward peak hours raises the unit price even when the total does not move.

What each row holds

  • Load center and end of window: what the period refers to.
  • kWh and Δ kWh: consumption and its change.
  • Cost and Δ cost: spend and its change.
  • $/kWh and Δ $/kWh: unit price, the cleanest signal.

What it explains

  • Separate whether spend rose because of volume or because of price.
  • Spot the month power factor began to degrade.
  • Project year end from the real trend rather than the average.
  • Back next year's energy budget.
